While the silver-haired Alba of the Republic’s eighty-five sectors live safely behind protective walls, those of different appearances are interned in a secret eighty-sixth faction. Known within the military as the Eighty-Six, they are forced to fight against the Empire’s autonomous Legion under the command of the Republican “Handlers.”

Vladilena Milizé is assigned to the Spearhead squadron to replace their previous Handler. Shunned by her peers for being a fellow Eighty-Six supporter, she continues to fight against their inhumane discrimination. Shinei Nouzen is the captain of the Spearhead squadron. Infamous for being the sole survivor of every squadron he’s been in, he insists on shouldering the names and wishes of his fallen comrades. When the fates of these young souls from two different worlds collide, will it ignite the spark that lights their path to salvation, or will they burn themselves in the flames of despair?”

Official Synopsis:

“Yatora Yaguchi excels in school and is well-liked by his peers, but inside he’s a high school boy grappling with emptiness and frustration. That is, until one day when he finds himself fascinated by a painting. The painting’s impact drives Yatora to throw himself into the harsh and beautiful world of art.”

9. Platinum End

  • Genres: Psychological, Supernatural, Drama, Shounen

From the creators of Death Note [Takeshi Obata (Art) & Tsugumi Ohba (Story)] comes another Psychological Fantasy series, “Platinum End”. I can’t wait for it to be released. The first episode should air on October the 8th.

The only doubt I have is that studio behind it is the same studio that animated Mars Red (aired this summer) which I dropped. Hopefully, they will do a better job this time around.

Official Synopsis:

“Mirai Kakehashi is a young student fed up with a life of abuse from his uncle and aunt who raised him since his parents’ death, but is saved by a Guardian Angel called Nasse after attempting to commit suicide. Upon learning from Nasse that his foster parents were responsible for the deaths of his father and mother, Mirai uses the powers she bestowed him in order to confront them and enact justice. However, Mirai’s ordeals are just beginning as Nasse soon after informs him that God will retire in 999 days and thirteen candidates to replace him were selected including Mirai himself. To make matters worse, not only can Mirai not refuse to take part in the contest to decide the next God, but among the other candidates there are those capable of anything to win, including killing all the Competitors as soon as possible.”

I am looking forward to this one. The premise is super interesting, and you don’t usually see Horror-Comedies. The first episode should air on October the 3rd.

Official Synopsis:

“One day, Miko suddenly started seeing grotesque beings that others couldn’t. Her response was not to run, not to face them, but to do everything she could to completely ignore them! Can she keep a straight face and continue her day-to-day life while surrounded by horrifying monsters?”

Movies:

I found only two movies worth watching this season (at least for me).

1. Jujutsu Kaisen 0

Jujutsu Kaisen 0 Movie Poster

  • Genres:  Action, Supernatural, Shounen

The story takes place a one year before Itadori’s time, focusing on his upperclassmens at Jujutsu High–Maki, Panda, Toge and Yuta Okkotsu (Main Character).

Official Synopsis:

Yuuta Okkotsu is haunted. Ever since his childhood friend Rika died in a traffic accident, her ghost has stuck with him. But her spirit does not appear as the sweet girl Yuuta once knew. Instead, she manifests as a monstrous and powerful entity who fiercely protects him. Unable to control Rika’s violent behavior, Yuuta is helpless to stop the bloodshed that follows from her brutal vengeance. As a result, when apprehended by “Jujutsu” sorcerers—the secret guardians of the world, trained to combat forces like Rika—Yuuta wishes to be completely isolated so that no one else can get hurt.

Yet his apprehender, the master sorcerer Satoru Gojou, has different plans for him: he will join Jujutsu High School and learn to control Rika in order to help people. Now a first-year at this school, Yuuta starts to learn Jujutsu arts and combat malignant beings. Alongside his new classmates Maki Zenin, a Jujutsu weapons expert; Toge Inumaki, a spellcaster who uses his words as weapons; and Panda, a seemingly walking and talking panda bear, Yuuta begins to find his place in the world and, for once, to feel comfortable with his abilities. However, as his training progresses, Yuuta comes to learn that the dangers of the Jujutsu world go far beyond that of wicked spirits.

2. Summer Ghost

  • Name: Summer Ghost

  • Genres: Drama, Supernatural, Mystery

This movie could honestly be a hidden gem of the upcoming season. Nothing too fancy happening, just a casual slice-of-life show, with a mediocre studio behind the film (IMO), but something seems oddly good about it. I guess we will need to wait and see. Oh, the premier is set for November the 12th.

Official Synopsis:

“Have you heard of Summer Ghosts?” Tomoya, Aoi, and Ryo are high school students who met through the Internet. The urban legend of the Summer Ghost is that it is a ghost of a young woman who appears when fireworks are lit. Tomoya is unable to step out into the life he wants. Aoi is unable to find her place in the world. Ryo’s bright future is suddenly closed to him. Each of them has their own reasons for meeting the Summer Ghost. On a summer night when life and death intersect, where will each of their thoughts go to?”

  1. Well you saved me some time with this post surely hahaha
I am really looking forward to watching Platinum End. Mars Red was OK in my books, so I guess they won’t screw Platinum End that much (hopefully 🤞🤞)
