Synopsis

“Takemichi Hanagaki’s life is at an all-time low. Just when he thought it couldn’t get worse, he finds out that Hinata Tachibana, his ex-girlfriend, was murdered by the Tokyo Manji Gang: a group of vicious criminals that has been disturbing society’s peace for quite some time.

Wondering where it all went wrong, Takemichi suddenly finds himself traveling through time, ending up 12 years in the past—when he was still in a relationship with Hinata. Realizing he has a chance to save her, Takemichi resolves to infiltrate the Tokyo Manji Gang and climb the ranks in order to rewrite the future and save Hinata from her tragic fate.” –MyAnimeList

What Happened?

The first page is a continuation of the story from chapter 221. Draken is lying on the road, feeling huge pain all over his body. He got shot and, that’s how he stopped bullets from hitting Takemichi. He feels nothing, and he finds comfort in looking at the sky. Draken is dying!

Takemichi has called for help. He is trying to keep Draken alive by giving the usual aid is coming, stay awake talk. Draken has finally come to terms with some of the things he did and has one “lame” favor to ask from Takemichi. Take care of Mikey!

My thoughts

Chapter 222 was madness. It was a rollercoaster, to be honest. I suspected something cheesy was happening in the last chapter(which I did not review here, SRY!), where he just acted so strong, protected Takemichi, and suddenly fell to the ground.

Unfortunately, the saddest of all scenarios happened, and this seems like the end of Draken-kun.

Conclusion

This chapter brought some unexpected emotions for me. Draken was/is my favorite character of the show, thus I would not like him to end this way. But if this is how it all ends for Draken-kun, he went down as a hero, and for that I am glad.

Score: (4/5)

  1. I am actually sad to see Draken dying like this. However, I lacked some action in this chapter( In my opinion).

Nonetheless, it was a good chapter overall. (3/5) for me!

    P. S. Thank you for the review!
